The Shed 64, December–January 2016

 In our Christmas 2015 issue 64 we meet mould maker John Singleton from Whanganui and join Wim Le Roy on his South Auckland property that is bursting at the seams with some very rare Lancias. Ken Macklan is a man who is one of the last of a kind, possessing the very rare skill of a wheelwright, a wooden wheel restorer. Ken shares his skills with us and we look to safety issues with a guide to choosing the right protective gear to wear when welding. Stu's shed produces a fancy wooden herb planter for the barbeque zone at your place and we go a bit loco when we join a group of enthusiasts breathing new life into old train locomotives. In our project feature this issue we have a bit of fun with a weather proof coat hanger and we meet an enterprising couple who just love to install outside bathrooms. Perfect for summer entertaining we throw together some salad tongs and enjoy the skills of Chris Pennell of Rangiora who transforms tree stumps and fence posts into photo frames and clocks. We get all historic with some vintage power generators and marvel at kitset St Ayles skiffs built by Mike Mahoney in Tasmania.
