The Shed 32, August–September 2010

In The Shed Issue 32 we commence our new, regular building feature with How To Build a Deck. David Haig shows how to steam bend wood to make a stylish stool then we head to Universal Pattern and Mouldmakers in Otahuhu Auckland to enjoy their unique and specialised skills. Our shed of the month belongs to Robin Foote of Auckland who has a rare 1927 BSA 700cc Twin amongst many other man-shed goodies and Mark Beckett shows us how to make wee handy robot. Vik Oliver does a micro controller shoot out with Arduino and PICAXE and Julian Pirie shows us his huge shed and proclaims that when designing a house, first build your giant shed! We talk men's health and share prostate cancer survivor stories, show how to make better needles and share how they get those patterns in cast concrete - how did they do that?
