The Shed 52, December–January 2014

In our end of year issue 52 of The Shed we have a bit of fun building a Hobbit Haven with Craig Cook. Our woodwork project this issue is how to build a saw horse and Ray Cleaver of Taranaki gets around of some very, very big wheels. In our shed visit Ray Cleaver heads to Normanby in South Taranaki to enjoy the glory of the coach builders art viewing a 1906 Arrol Johnston, one of only two left in the world. Casting aluminium wheels is shown to us by Les Gale in a step by step process and Robbie Miller of Tasmania proudly shows off his smokin new smoker and tells us how we can build one too. Terry Snow introduces us to an award winning approach to waste material, turning trash into treasure and Allister van Mil gets in the holiday spirit with a little brewing at home. We get building a wooden sea kayak and Roger Lacey ponders Richard Pearce's world-beating aircraft engine, building skills. Finally our electronics feature this issue is Raspberry Pi_Pt4:
