The Shed 51, October–November 2013

In Shed 51 Vik Oliver goes through how to build your own Sh3d 3D printer, step by step. Gary Farquhar solves that annoying issue of metal swarf disposal by building a swarf sump to solve that issue and our woodwork project this issue is a bookcase constructed by Hugh McCarroll. we head to Wanganui to have a look at the local Men's Shed and then Taranaki to enjoy a tractor modelled after the Henry Ford original. We uncover a Taranaki shed that houses possibly the country's largest collection of dirt bikes before we get some shed safety tips from Terry Snow. We celebrate 150 years of New Zealand railways and visit Tangleball, a community workshop that welcomes one and all, just off Auckland's Karangahape Road. We visit Makerspace in Wellington and we explore the future of TV with the revolutionary XBMC software as it comes to Rasberry Pi. More tech help with Part III of our Rasberry  Pi 101 series, connecting sensors and peripheral devices and we also review a Raspberry Pi rack.
