New Zealand Classic Car 304, April 2016

The dust has settled and the 2016 New Zealand Classic Car Show is over for another year. In our latest issue, we manage to feature the Masters Class–winning E-Type Jaguar as well as the Team Event–winning Porsche 911E and 356A cabriolet. In addition, we’re also fortunate enough to get a closer look at the Survivors Class–winning 1936 MG PB.

Read all about the award-winning 1961 Jaguar E-Type Roadster, which was meticulously restored by Simon Crispe, who lives in Dubai. With temperatures exceeding 50° Celsius , it’s a good thing that he had an air-conditioned garage.
We take a look at this year's deserved Teams Event winners: Dean Huston’s 1970 Porsche 911E and David Mackrell’s 1958 Porsche 356A cabriolet. The pressure was definitely on, not only for the personal satisfaction of being part of a winning team, but also as club representatives with the ultimate goal of hosting the following year’s event.

When it comes to originality, this year’s Survivors Class–winning 1936 MG PB has been part of one family for more than five decades, and is indeed a rare time capsule displaying virtually all of its original components.

Eight  verses four cylinders seems an unfair comparison. We strap ourselves into the latest Mustangs and are pleasantly surprised at what we discover. Be sure to read our final verdict.

Catch up on all the thrills and spills, and final results from the 2016 Targa Bambina.  The Pukekohe-based event saw the return of two formidable competitors —Malcolm Clark and Mark Parsons — who teamed up this year in Malcolm's mighty Rover, to take out the Metalman Classic 2WD competition.
