The Shed 70, December–January 2017

 In this Christmas 2016 Issue 70 we applaud the Woodworkers Guild for bringing on the next generation of woodworkers, meet Barry Read of Inglewood who brings new life to old ride on mowers and retired carpenter Alan Gray's new job is crafting vintage wooden vehicles from his Cromwell home. For our metalworking section we show how to get to grips with chucks and Neville Hayes of Invercargill shares his collection of Burt Munro bikes not only with us but the customers of his store as well. Stu Lees gets in the Christmas spirit by making a range of clever gifts and we visit a unique collection of machinery in Taranaki owned by the late Ian Harrison. Art and science join forces courtesy of Phil Newbury of Invercargill to create some stunning glass sculptures and we have some fun with mechtronics to add movement to a Christmas decoration. Finally, in our project this month we show you how to make a belt buckle.
