New Zealand Classic Car 338, February 2019

The February issue looks at some evocative models. For those who lean towards things American there’s a rare two-door ’57 Chev, and if you’re after something quintessentially British, look no further than the MGC, MG’s move up from four to six cylinders. We take a look at a 280kph BMW M3 that just doesn’t understand the rules of German respectability. The Heron GT40 is a New Zealander’s take on that Le Mans–winning Ford GT40. This car, made by a couple of blokes in Rotorua 50 years ago, has turned up racing in Europe. It has connections with Belgium, Russia, and France — Le Mans, that is — and the original builder is back in France to watch his car race there.
