The Shed 31, June–July 2010

In The Shed Issue 31 we talk chainsaws, how to maintain and do a complete makeover. Al Reay shows us how to get a wheelchair into a ute and we make an easy-to-build saw horse for cutting firewood. Brent Bevan enjoys a rally for tracked tractors and in our safety column, we warn about the dangers of heaving lifting. Geoff Merryweather builds a very useful scooter carrier for a camper van then Louise Fuller makes a stylish curvy cabinet out of veneer and gives some veneer tips. We head to Wanaka to enjoy the Transport and Toy Museum there and profile Ray Avery, New Zealander of the year. We share the huge advance in concrete construction and look at the new technology helping make jewellery. We meet Gordon Pembridge artist, woodturner, painter, engraver who is so grateful for the talent he has been bestowed.
