NZV8 197, October 2021
There was a point during Matt Lowe’s ’72 Cuda build — when the underseal was removed revealing the much-maligned metal cancer — that he could have thrown in the towel, but instead he doubled down, and three years later the results are one of the best-built Cudas on our shores. You’ve all seen our concept corner, but how many have you seen recreated in real life? Kayton from Real Rides has just completed his dream pro-touring ’67 Chevelle, a car we first saw as a concept in these pages. Keeping on the boost route we showcase Geoff Lowry’s [THEQUE], an LSA-powered 695hp ’73 HQ. We also head to Manfeild to check out an XD circuit car that pays tribute to one of the best, Alan Moffat. And it’s been 50 years since the first Palmy Swap Meet. We look back at it’s history as well as checking out this year’s event. While in Palmy we also hit Kruzin’s Mid Winter Chillout. We also visited the last big event before lockdown: Chrome Expression session and went in-depth with some of our favourite builds hitting the track. All this and a ton more in the October issue of NZV8.
